2010 Season
Lewis County legislators had approved the formation of a permit-based ATV trail system for the county. The Lewis County Chamber of Commerce is proud to be a part of this new venture by processing the permit applications.
Permits for the new trail system will be issued per machine, and will cost $40 each for members of a club belonging to the Tug Hill Adirondack ATV Association, $80 for non-THADKATVA Club members.
Permit fees will be placed in a recreational trails fund for the creation, maintenance and operation of the trail system. Permits will be available for purchase at designated local outlets and online, through a secure Internet site. The permit requirement will be enforced only on county and private land, but ATV patrols will ride through the entire system to enforce other rules and regulations.
The trail system is scheduled to open May 1 and run through the first day of rifle season in October.
For more information about the new ATV system, contact the chamber at info@lewiscountychamber.org.
